1/ What is the Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment (REM)? 

The Master in Renewable Energy in the Marine Environment (REM) was designed and accepted in the framework of the very selective European Union programme of Excellence Erasmus Mundus in 2018.

The aim of the course is to provide the student with skills in assessment, analysis, simulation, development and exploitation of all available energy in the marine environment and in project development of safe, efficient and reliable marine energy generation plants, including operation and maintenance design and study of the integration of the plants in the electric system.

2/ Who are the partners? 

The 2-year-Master's course is conducted by 4 European Universities:  

  • University of the Basque Country (Spain)
  • University of Strathclyde (United Kingdom)
  • Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway)
  • Centrale Nantes (France)

3/ Outcomes

Students will obtain a joint Erasmus + Master's degree from the top European institutions where they studied.

Students may take the master as a professional terminal degree, or join PhD programmes afterwards.

The consortium and its industrial network play an important role in the design of the curricula, the teaching of the cutting edge R&D that guarantee and enhance the employability of the students after graduation compared to a regular master degree.

6/ Applications

The application for the 2018-2020 edition is open on http://master-rem.eu/.

Submissions will close by 1st of March 2018 to third country students and European candidates to Erasmus Mundus funding. Additional deadline of 15th of March will be offered for self-funding candidates.
