For the international flavour of the country's higher education system
The world's fifth largest economy, France is the third biggest host of international students, after the USA and the UK. Also making it the first non-anglophone country on the list of biggest hosts.
France's institutions award degrees that adhere to the Common European architecture known as LMD (Licence, Master, Doctorat). French degrees are therefore recognised and accepted throughout the world.
For many students, studying in France means an opportunity to learn French or to improve one's command of the language. Doing so allows them to join the global community of 250 million speakers of la belle langue which is also an official language of the Olympic, the United Nations and the African and European Union.
In France, international students of all nationalities enjoy the same rights and advantages as French students. In the last 10 years, the number of foreign students has grown by 75%
