Studying in France could be much more affordable than you think - in France's public institutions of higher education, the government bears the bulk of the cost of education at an average of 10 000 € per student per year.

Annual tuition rates at public institutions are set by law. Fixed fees for all public institutions for the academic year 2012-2013 are:

-          184 €  for students enrolled in bachelor’s degree programmes

-          256 €  for students enrolled in master’s degree programmes

-          391 €  for students enrolled in Ph.D programmes

-          610 €  for students enrolled in engineering school 

Additional fees may be required for specific services.

Tuition rates at private institutions—particularly schools of business and management—is generally higher (from €3,000 to €10,000 annually).
